Molalla Real Estate Market

The real estate market in the rural community of Molalla enjoys a beautiful location in the Willamette Valley, just 30 minutes to the south of neighboring Portland. Those who are looking to buy a home for sale near Portland will find both established and new real estate on the market in Molalla.

Because of the huge surge in population over the last three years in this community, Molalla's real estate market has a large number of fairly new homes and properties. The rural location also means many houses for sale sit on land that is appropriate for agriculture or large animals. Average listing prices tend to hover in the $300,000 range, with prices ranging from the upper $100,000s to over $500,000, depending on the size of the home and the size of the lot. Each of these feature single family homes built in the 2000s, offering a modern real estate option for today's home buyers. Ranch-style houses with large workshops or barns on the property are also commonly on the market, and many residents living here enjoy having a home located near the Molalla River.

One of the community highlights of the year in Molalla is the Molalla Buckeroo professional rodeo. At the start of its history, Molalla's main economic commodity was buying and selling lumber. Over the past few decades the city has worked to make its economy more diverse, and while Christmas trees and lumber mills are still major economic factors in the community, manufacturing and commercial investments are showing to have more importance in Molalla.
