Milwaukie, Oregon, best known for its many dogwood trees and as the birthplace of the Bing cherry, is a suburb of Portland, located south of the larger city along the Willamette River. Of course, nearby Portland offers a myriad of additional attractions, including the Picton Manor, the Portland Museum of Art, the Portland Children's Museum, and the Oregon Historical Museum.

Milwaukie residents will find a variety of restaurants, cafes, and coffee houses. This Clackamas County city is home to a number of local favorites, such as Grammas Corner Restaurant for unpretentious comfort food, Ohana Hawaiian Cafe for Polynesian fare, King Curry Thai Cafe, and Cha! Cha! Cha! for Mexican cuisine. Portland offers plenty of additional food and restaurant options, including the dozens of downtown food carts. Dark Horse Comics, best known for its Hellboy and Sin City series, was founded in Milwaukie in 1986 and remains one of the city's most notable entities.
