Aloha Real Estate Market

The real estate market of Aloha is located in Washington County, about 11 miles from Downtown Portland. Because of its location, it is an easy place to buy a home for those that work in the downtown area or neighboring communities. The housing market is also highly competitive with a growing number of homes for sale and a wide range of benefits to homeowners and potential home buyers.

There are a variety of reasons to buy real estate in Aloha. While the community amenities and quality of the schools are good enough reasons, it is also a promising housing market. It has much to offer today's home buyer including increasing property values with moderate current listing prices. For those looking to buy a house near Portland with a strong future, Aloha is an excellent choice.

As of August of 2017, the median listing price of a home on the market in Aloha was over $339,900. That's about $221 per square foot of home sold. Property sale prices have risen about 12 percent from August of 2016, making this one of the highest increases in the area. The average price per square foot for a single family property has risen about 11 percent during the same timeframe. Real estate prices across the board are increasing, but many home buyers will pay about the same to rent or to buy.

The community is seeing a good number of homes for sales as well. About 114 houses sold from the first week of May to the first week of August. Because there is a limited inventory currently on the market and home values are on the rise, this is very much a seller's market. However, listing prices remain moderate making now an excellent time to buy.

When it comes to the types of properties listed for sale in Aloha, buyers will have plenty of options to choose from. Most commonly, single family homes are present here, though a number of condo and townhome properties exist as well. Additionally, there are duplexes and apartments available. Traditional styles of houses, such as Colonials and ranches are plentiful here. However, many of the new construction properties in Aloha are building custom homes, including some larger estates.

Some new development is occurring in the city as well. Several larger home builders exist including Oglesby Construction Company, Robert Brekke Construction, and Aloha Home Builders. Each one offers a wide range of amenities to offer.

Aloha Community Amenities

For those who wish to purchase a home for sale in Aloha, it makes sense to get to know the community well. Aloha is a growing and developing area, though smaller, spanning only 7 square miles. It's home to over 41,700 people living here and has seen the number of real estate properties increase year after year. The key here is the growing workforce present in the community. It is known for several industrial companies and has a strong technology and food service industry, as well.

It's important to know that this community is a valuable commuter destination, but Aloha still maintains its small town appeal. It has several parks and green spaces. The community doesn't provide for many of its own services, though, relying instead on Beaverton and other areas.

Aloha Neighborhood Highlights

  • The city's first public library wasn't created until 1984. The Aloha Community Library is run by volunteers and features some 4,500 books.
  • Aloha is a commuter's town. Many people who live here work in Beaverton or the neighboring areas.
  • NerdWallet named the city one of the "Cities on the Rise in Oregon." It held the number 10 position on the list.
  • The location is unincorporated because, as a smaller community, it cannot provide some of its own services.
  • The Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue service meets the needs for fire protection and EMS for the city.

Aloha School Information

The children living in the neighborhood are served by the Hillsboro and Beaverton school districts. The community is home to Aloha High School as well as the International School of Beaverton. The area is also home to Life Christian School, a private school, as well as Palace of Praise Academy and Faith Bible Christian School.

For those who wish to buy a home near Portland, the homes for sale in Aloha may offer exactly what many are looking for. This is an up-and-coming community with a strong sense of ownership. Homeowners benefit from the remoteness of the area and the affordability of the real estate market.
